OK I have continually had this issue for many years and it is frustrating beyond belief, especially when someone copy & pastes your posts info and includes your family member names as well (in a hurry I guess) or takes PART of what you said and then adds a word or two and gives no credit at all!
JUST YESTERDAY I sent out a GDA (good deal alert) and immediately 2 other sites copied it word for word and did the very same thing, next thing you know......... well you know how it goes
I am thrilled to find your site and will be researching this more as ENUFF IS ENUFF ........ check out this rant I had about this issue concerning FAMOUS PEOPLE not even touching the blogs, websites....

I think the important thing is that the blogger gets both the credit for her effort AND the traffic. If there's any question about whether a quote is too lengthy, a quick email to the author should clear things up.

If you are concerned about someone copying the name of your blog, you can head over to whichever free blogging platform you don't use (Blogger or Wordpress.org) and reserve your name by creating a free blog with the same name and post a link back to your blog. Just something that makes sense to do and it's FREE!

It is hard to write unique posts when you're talking about deals. I try to use terms that only I use--stockupportunity, for example. I also try to describe the deals using sentences rather than lists, if that makes any sense (I know you do, too, Heather). That gives the post a little more attributable (word?) style. The links at the bottom of the post have other ideas for protecting your work.

I'm pretty much willing to give people the benefit of the doubt if the happen to say virtually the same thing I do. Some instances are so obvious that you just gotta say something.

What steps can you take in your own posts so that they have your unique stamp?

In the coupon world and freebies world we work with a lot of lists and don't write a lot of text, so you do see similar posts on different blogs, although they were written be two different people.
